AVIANTO ESTATE PRIVATE SCHOOL – PRIMARY SCHOOL
Primary School is the place where each child is given the opportunity to discover who he or she is. Our curriculum is structured, following CAPS as set out by the Department Of Basic Education, and enhanced to allow each child to develop into the best individual that they can be.
In the Foundation Phase (Grade 1-3) we focus on establishing core skills needed for success in mathematics, reading for understanding and writing. Our children experience real world examples in a modern day context, to allow them to understand the relevance of what they are learning. They can express themselves in various forms of creativity, allowing each child to develop at their own pace within our guided framework.
In the Intermediate Phase (Grade 4-7) we have a greater focus on academic vigour and an understanding of the balance between success and effort. Our children experience real world examples in a modern day context to allow them to understand the relevance of what they are learning. Each child is given the opportunity to develop leadership skills and is given different experiences through this phase, allowing for coaching to benefit everyone and not just a select few children in Grade 7. The understanding of “it’s cool to be me” is a key focus area, which allows each child to understand that you are unique in your own way and that accepting oneself is critical in the process of being accepted by others.
“The average teacher teaches, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, but the great teacher inspires.”
We strive to educate and guide children to independent adulthood ensuring that they realise their full potential, mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. We create leadership in our students and inculcate a love for God and country. We further create a disciplined environment, in which children are happy and secure as they explore their world.
